ABOUT MIMIHALI

We're Katie and Sirpa, the passionate duo behind Mimihali. Mimi, a common term for grandmother in the United States, and hali translates to hug in Finnish. We're a female-owned business dedicated to bringing you the joy of slowing down and hand stitching sentimental items for fun and gifting.

OUR ROOTS

Inspired by our shared love for thoughtful design and the timeless art of creating things by hand, we decided to create a space where people of all ages can rediscover the pleasure of hand stitching. Our journey began with a simple idea: to take your time, savor the process, and make meaningful memories.

Katie and Sirpa, with backgrounds in design, came together to offer something special. Sirpa, influenced by her carpenter father who taught her to knit, has always been drawn to textile design. Her career took her from Finland to the United States, designing children's products and leading various design companies. Katie, a talented designer and long-time collaborator, shares Sirpa's vision of sustainable and joyful crafting. Katie grew up in Maine with a deep love of family and nature. Her career began under Sirpa's wing, and together they formed a bond rooted in their shared interests and values.
