MUSHROOM FORAGING

MUSHROOM FORAGING

Sirpa lives in Finland surrounded by thousands of lakes and forests. Fall is her favorite time of year, because of all the beautiful things Finland has to offer. With Finland’s ‘Every man’s rights’ you are able to forage in every first, swim in any lake and hike any mountain. In the fall the woods are full of delicacies like blueberries, cranberries and all kinds of mushroom.

Sirpa and her daughter spend time together in their local woods foraging mushroom and berries. Chantarelles, yellow foot and boletes fill the kitchen in the fall and are dried for winter. Chanterelle pie and yellow food soup are the family favorites. The joy of the quiet forest, the smell of nature and the excitement of the fall harvest bring the family together and make fall her favorite season.
